Mushroom Guru is a growing, entrepreneurial, medicinal mushroom, health and wellness, and education business in Strand.
We are looking for an Warehouse Assistant. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth processing and dispatch of our orders and help to ensure that we remain effective and efficient in our Customer Service.
Applicants MUST please reside in the Helderberg, have reliable transport, be a health conscious, non-smoker (as we are a health and wellness company) and be available from 8am to 5pm Monday to Fridays. If you do not meet these requirements, please do not apply. The position pays between R1600-R2000 per week, depending on experience and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a support role, have great communication skills, and be competent in organising, planning, prioritising and working with little supervision. They will be self-motivated and trustworthy and have impeccable attention to detail.
This position will work alongside the Operations Director and tasks will include:

This position will work alongside the Operations Director and tasks will include:
- Processing web shop orders and email communication relating to orders.
- Picking, packing, invoicing and booking orders for shipment with the courier, or staging orders for customer collection.
- Answering the phone, directing calls, assisting customers with information and capturing telephonic quotes.
- Assisting walk-in customers with information, capturing sales orders, picking and invoicing sales of stock items.
- Monitoring office supplies and packaging, and procuring replenishment.
- Filing and capturing courier waybill info for monthly freight report. Email communication with the courier relating to any queries.
- Matric or College qualification (ideally in warehousing, logistics, admin or finance)
- English and Afrikaans, spoken and written
- Bookkeeping (foundation of understanding)
- Pastel accounting / Sage Accounting (cloud based)
- Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook (intermediate proficiency)
- Cloud based systems (ecommerce, retail booking systems, courier booking portal, etc.)
