Ganoderma lucidum (Curtis) P. Karst. is a European species. Genomic sequencing across multiple independent research groups has demonstrated that most commercially sold “reishi” or “lingzhi” products are not G. lucidum at all, but rather G. sichuanense (Asian origin) or G. sessile (North American origin).

FRC peptides are research-grade lyophilised compounds. They are not classified as registered pharmaceutical medicines under South African regulatory frameworks. Lyophilisation is freeze-drying — a preservation process that removes water from a compound under low pressure while frozen, producing a stable dry powder that can be reconstituted for use. Ganoderma sichuanense cultivation for MG-LZ8™ production is a dedicated, separate stream maintained under distinct conditions to the oyster mushroom production.
The full production cycle spans substrate preparation, spawn run colonisation, antler morphology induction and fruiting body development, harvest, and dual-phase extraction — a multi-week process. Specific batch timelines are not disclosed as a production proprietary.
